As individuals, we all have seen some dreams for ourselves
and many of us wish to fulfill them. As
for myself, I have always seen this dream of graduating from an eminent and a
top-notch university with a recognized degree in my hand. I can only imagine
myself on the day of my convocation with a graduation hat, dressed up neatly in charcoal black toga embellished
with parchments of my name. I certainly cannot wait for the day I officially
enroll into the university of my choice. But, this is just the beginning of my
dream!
I have always described myself to be a person who is extremely
enthusiastic, communicative and acquires sheer joy in learning. In fact, I
relish a fulfilled educational experience and would love to indulge in even
greater experiences in life. I have always disliked comparisons and widely hold
my belief in the fact that every individual in unique in his or her own way. We
all have different approaches towards life and share a different perspective.
In addition, we all possess distinctive skills and have a set of our 'likes'
and 'dislikes'. A comparison is an unfair mean of analyzing a person. It just
undermines one's potential and scope. We
all have a different perception because each and every one of use are
DIFFERENT.
I highly savor challenges. I want to make sure that I
challenge myself at every point in time. I feel that a challenge enlightens
one's inner potential and enhances your capability. As far as I know myself, I
always tend to perform better in those things which I take and regard as a
'challenge'. I feel that the 'challenge' which I embrace serves as a medium that
tests my abilities, work habits and skills. In the 16 years of my life that I
have lived, the most important lesson that I have been taught by my parents is
to never take anything for granted.
Overconfidence is the key to failure. Respect every blessing which the
Almighty has endowed upon you and thank him endlessly. Never take pride in anything you do. None of
us have the license to be proud or selfish.
I also believe that a person should be a
'good sport'. By that, I mean to say that a successful person is someone who is
appreciative of other's work and embraces their weaknesses. I have also said
this in my previous blog posts, that one should learn to accept criticisms as
it may be constructive to them in the long run. Our weaknesses and failures
help us to evolve as persons and spark a willingness to succeed within us. As
we undergo certain experiences, we emerge from our baby mould. My teachers have
always taught me to anticipate challenges in life and grasp opportunities.
Our world is similar to a masked ball with manipulative
people all around. This is the time when our learning experiences will assist
us in life. Whenever you encounter a failure in life, do not blame your luck or
say that it was all because of a bad omen. Take it as a test! Embrace the problem with an attitude of
positivity and keep you belief firm. The flow of positivity in your veins is
what will help you to flourish in your future endeavors. Never let anyone shatter your hopes and
beliefs. There used to be a time, when even a little of criticism was adequate
to demoralize me and tarnish my hopes. However, as time passed by, I had
realized that ups and downs are a part of everyone's lives. We all will face
failures at some point in time. But, it depends on how each one of us handles the
situation. A successful individual is definitely someone who tackles a
situation in the best and most convenient of ways.
My parents have always served as my mentors and continue to
inspire me in every aspect of my life. My beloved mother taught me to be strong
and never leave my passion aside. She always supported me in every step of my
life and immensely encouraged me. A wise man once said, "Mother hold our
hands at the beginning, but they continue to hold our hearts for the rest of
our lives." My mother always confided in me and that is something which strengthens my abilities and makes me a more
capable and an esteemed person. On the
other hand, my dad is my role model. He
is a self-made individual who has always taught me to be calm and patient at
all the times. In fact, he is the one who has fuelled my dreams and passion and
I simply cannot thank him enough for that. Both my parents have taught me to
adhere to the right path and always be honest. Today, I feel that I can
somewhat distinguish between right and wrong, just because of them. Their
unconditional love and concern for me makes me feel more special and happier. They helped me establish as a compassionate, assertive and an empathetic individual.
My mantra is to 'Live your life to the fullest!'
Life is a roller coaster ride with its hurdles and a few
dramatic twist and turns. However, it is most important for us to enjoy our
life and make the best out of it.
Thank you!
